Board Member Initiatives

Miss Alternative Big Sister Program

This tiered mentorship initiative invites our pageant sisters to volunteer for Foundation-sponsored makeover days designed for survivors. Participants are selected through heartfelt letters detailing their journeys, needs, and goals. Our mission is to uplift these individuals by helping them feel beautiful and seen, while honoring their resilience and achievements.

Miss Alternative Princess Program

In this touching program, our crowned winners partner with young girls undergoing chemotherapy. Together with the Foundation, they deliver magical princess makeovers and professional photoshoots. Each girl receives her very own crown, celebrating her bravery and reminding her of her inner royalty.

Miss Alternative Mini’s Program

We’re building partnerships with local schools to offer volunteer credit hours to high school students involved in drama, theatre, arts, and LGBTQIA+ extracurriculars. Through active roles in our events, students gain meaningful experience while contributing to inclusive community outreach.

Miss Alternative Self Defense Program

This empowering initiative connects domestic violence survivors with personal trainers, fitness experts, and gyms. The goal is to rebuild confidence and provide practical self-defense training—enabling participants to reclaim their physical autonomy and feel strong in setting and protecting personal boundaries.

Future Growth & Resources

We are committed to expanding our mental, physical, and spiritual support systems by continuously adding resources. A future goal includes offering vocational scholarships to our pageant winners, furthering their personal and professional development.

Proposal for Cyberbullying and Gangstalking Protection Bill

Submitted by:
Miss Alternative Foundation
Buffalo, NY

Overview:

Miss Alternative Foundation proposes a new bill for New York State to officially recognize and criminalize cyberbullying and gangstalking—forms of psychological and reputational harm amplified by digital technology. This bill aims to fill a critical gap in current laws, offering victims real protection and justice.

The Problem:

Cyberbullying and gangstalking are often ongoing, coordinated attacks using online platforms to harass, defame, and intimidate victims. These actions can lead to severe mental health consequences, job loss, and even suicide. Despite existing harassment laws, New York lacks specific protections for digital harassment and coordinated targeting.

Key Legislative Goals:

  1. Define Cyberbullying and Gangstalking – Establish clear legal definitions for online harassment and coordinated digital attacks.

  2. Criminalize Severe Forms of Harassment – Make repeated cyberbullying a criminal offense, with escalated penalties for minors, public figures, or marginalized individuals.

  3. Training for Law Enforcement – Require specialized training for police to identify and address cyber harassment and gangstalking cases.

  4. Support System for Victims – Create a statewide reporting platform and provide trauma-informed support resources.

  5. Balance Free Speech and Protection – Ensure the bill targets harmful actions without infringing on freedom of speech.

Impact:

  • Mental Health & Public Safety: This bill will reduce the psychological harm caused by online harassment and improve safety for vulnerable populations.

  • Digital Justice: By updating the law, New York can protect people from digital abuse while upholding civil rights.

  • Economic Benefits: Reduces the negative consequences of cyberbullying, allowing victims to regain livelihoods and peace of mind.

Why This Matters:

Cyberbullying and gangstalking are not just digital inconveniences—they are real-world threats with lasting consequences. This bill will ensure that New York leads the way in protecting its citizens from these modern-day dangers.

Call to Action:

Miss Alternative Foundation seeks support to draft, sponsor, and pass this bill. Together, we can ensure that New York becomes a leader in digital safety and justice.
